Dangote's new fuel distribution scheme promises lower costs and jobs, but marketers fear being cut out entirely.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a distribution scheme for petrol, diesel, and other petroleum products aimed at reducing inflation, lowering fuel costs, and creating thousands of jobs. The initiative will offer free logistics support to petrol stations, manufacturers, telecom firms, and the aviation sector. Experts hailed the move /as a boost to Nigeria’s economy and a step toward efficiency. The refinery also plans to deploy 4,000 CNG-powered tankers to address distribution bottlenecks, eliminate middlemen, and promote environmental sustainability. However, some fuel marketers have expressed concerns over potential job losses as Dangote bypasses traditional supply chains.
